Benevolence Efforts

Churches of Christ Disaster Relief
We are one of many congregations across the country who support this worthwhile organization. This work is part of our annual budget but we also will
have special collections if a specific need arises such as Katrina and more recently the floods in Nashville. The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort
immediately responds to any major disaster in the continental United States by sending truckloads of emergency food, water, cleaning, and other
supplies to disaster victims. Check out their website, www.disasterreliefeffort.org, for more information.
Central Church of Christ Benevolence Center
We encourage our members to give to this worthy cause anytime they have the opportunity. Please visit their website,

, to find out more.
Goats for Widows & Bicycles for Preachers in India
This year our members supported this effort in a special collection. Information about Operation Compasion, the goats for widows program, can be
found on the Waldron Missions website, http://waldronmissions.org . The bicycles for preachers campaign is explained further in a recent newsletter.

Mission Efforts

RUSSIA
We are one of several congregations helping to support three congregations in Russia. The congregation in Vyatskiye Polyany was established in 1996
and is currently solid. Their meeting place, located in a prominent position on Hospital street, was completed in 2006. This new building was funded by
New Union and Red Hill congregations in Manchester. We are helping to support a preacher at this congregation and at one in Moscow as well as another
who recently began a new congregation on the outskirts of Moscow. Another part of this mission effort is to provided preacher training for Russian
ministers from all across the country. Once per year about 25 ministers meet at the congregation in Vyatskiye Polyany for a training seminar conducted
by Charles Williams from New Union. Our minister, Mike Ray has participated in one of these events and plans to attend future seminars.
PEARLINGTON, MS
We are one of several congregations helping to support a new congregation in Pearlington, MS, a town devastated by Hurricane Katrina. One of our
members has visited on several occasions and actually laid the foundation for their new building. They currently have around 20 members.
NIGERIA - Br. RAYMOND ONWUMERE
This has been a mission effort of ours for many years. Brother Raymond is a native of Nigeria and he has done great work spreading the Gospel of Christ
to those in this region. We are currently working on bringing him to the US for a visit to speak at Trousdale and other congregations who have provided
support for his efforts.
GUIANA - Br. Jerry Nash
This has also been a mission work that we have supported for a number of years. Brother Nash is currently the caretaker of Short Mountain Bible Camp
in Cannon County, TN. He is a Gospel preacher and speaks often at area congregations. His family also works with him in this mission effort. Once a year
Jerry and his family travel to small town in Guiana to teach and preach the gospel to area families.
SHORT MT. BIBLE CAMP
We recently renovated on of the cabins at SMBC, Bald Eagle. We have agreed to continue supporting the upkeep of this cabin. Our members installed new
log siding, a new roof and floor as well as painting the inside walls and ceiling. We also have several members who work at the camp throughout the
summer. This is a great effort for planting the seeds of faith in the hearts of young people.
Mexico Mission
We are currently supporting mission efforts of Br. Roberto Gherabaldi, a local gospel preacher at a Hispanic congregation in McMinnville, TN We also
enjoy a twice yearly singing with this congregation. We each host an annual bilingual song service followed by a fellowship meal.
WEST VIRGINIA
We also support several congregations in WV. The Churches of Christ in this area are small in number but strong in their faith. Each year Mt. Leo Church
of Christ in McMinnville, TN coordinates a series of Gospel Meetings in the area around Rich Creek, West Virginia. We have sent individuals from this
congregation with this group and are planning to participate in the future as well. During this effort, they will also do a lot of visiting and fellowship with
the Christians in the area.
