Why Milk?
Milk has long been revered as a
natural beauty aid. Over two thousand years ago, Cleopatra
indulged in milk baths to preserve her renowned beauty. Milk
is unique in its excellent moisturizing and nourishing abilities
because of the naturally occurring lipids found in it. It is a
miracle of nature that cannot be synthetically reproduced.
We use milk from our own Nigerian
Dwarf Goats. This breed of goat has a very high butter fat
percent, resulting in a higher quality soap. When we make our
soap, the lye is added directly to the milk. No water is ever
added to dilute the solution. |

What are fixed
oils?
They are the oils used in soap making
to give it lathering and other capabilities. Our soaps are
made with the highest quality vegetable and plant based oils found
on the market today.
Vegetable oils are chemically
superior to animal fats and are more readily absorbed by the skin
making them less likely to clog pores, and they can be beneficial to
certain skin conditions. Each one adds its own unique quality
to the soap.
-
Palm Oil provides a big, fluffy
lather that is very mild on the skin. It is the
number one ingredient used in soap and produces a high quality
product.
-
Coconut Oil provides volume to
the lather and has a good detergent quality.
-
Olive Oil produces good bubbles
and is very mild on the skin. It has been used for
centuries in soap as a cleanser, moisturizer, and a clarifier.
-
Sweet Almond Oil is pressed from
the seeds of the almond. It is used as an emollient in
cosmetics that is beneficial for dry skin and helps relieve
itching, soreness, and dryness.
Homemade soap is rich in natural
glycerin, which is best known for its abilities to moisturize the
skin. |

What are Essential
and Fragrance Oils?
These are the oils used to produce a
wide variety of wonderful aromas. We use top quality essential
or fragrance oils that are cosmetic grade. Essential oils are
extracted, using a variety of ways, from plants, leaves, stems or
flowers.
Some, not all, fragrance oils use the
natural essential oils in their blends. We choose to use
fragrance oils designed especially for cold process soap making
because of the larger variety of available scents. |
