| 1980-1982 |
The center label actually changed late in 1979, but the new look
generally is known as the 1980-82 label. The script "Adirondack"
was replaced by a block, italicized version; the "302"
moved above "Adirondack," and the words "PRO RING"
appeared where "302" had been.
In 1980, Adirondack began stamping the batch number and year code
in the knob. The year could be determined by the last digit -- "2"
meaning "1982," for example.

 |
| The barrel markings during this era featured
two versions -- either "FLAME TEMPERED" or "PERSONAL
MODEL" appeared under the player's name. |
 |
| 1983-1986 |
"Rawlings" made it's appearance on the center label in
1983. "ADIRONDACK" took second billing below, and "PRO
RING" was incorporated as a logo to the right of "Rawlings."
Bats made in 1983 have the "302" under "Adirondack."
Beginning in 1984, professional model bats began being labeled as
"P302."

|
Bats made in 1983 through early 1985 maintained the two barrel
variations of "FLAME TEMPERED" or "PERSONAL MODEL."
In 1985, though, the words "PROFESSIONAL MODEL" began
being used. You can find this version on some 1985 bats and all
1986 bats.

 |
| 1986-1989 |
In late 1986, the "diamond" shaped center label was scrapped
for a larger version of "Rawlings." The word "ADIRONDACK"
was incorporated into the "PRO RING" logo and shifted
to the right. The "P302" designation appeared under "Rawlings."
The barrel maintained the "PROFESSIONAL MODEL" label
from 1985-86.
|
 |
| 1990-1996 |
In 1990, both the "P302" and the "PRO RING"
logo disappeared. "ADIRONDACK" was moved back under "Rawlings"
and the band moved toward the center label, essentially becoming
part of the label.
Beginning in 1993, the words, "MADE IN USA" were sandwiched
between the Rawlings and Adirondack wordmarks.
|
 |
|
1990 also was the year that team names began appearing under the
player's names on the barrel.
Also, the date code stamped into the knob changed to incorporate
two digits, differentiating it from the code used in the 1980s.
A typical batch/year code would now look something like, "045
90."

 |
| 1996-1997 |
For a very brief time in 1996-97, Rawlings used a new logo that
was a forerunner to the center brand unveiled in 1997. It featured
the letter "R" inside an unclosed oval with a thick line.
The band around the bat was broken by the logo as it was in the
1990-96 version.
Barrel markings remained the same, with "BIG STICK,"
the player's name and the team name below.
|
 |
| 1997 |
The previous logo evolved just a bit -- the "R" was stretched
from side to side. The oval closed up, had a thinner line and featured
the words, "Rawlings ADIRONDACK MADE IN USA" under the
oval. The band around the bat still was broken by the logo.
Barrel markings remained the same, with "BIG STICK,"
the player's name and the team name below.
|
 |
| 1998-2008 |
In 1998, bats retained the late 1997 center brand, but the band
around the bat moved toward the knob and was unobstructed by the
logo.
Barrel markings remained the same, with "BIG STICK,"
the player's name and the team name below.
The date code did not change, other than the fact it switched to
"00" in 2000. It still uses two digits to denote the year.
|
 |
| 2003-2009 |
In 2003, the team name on the barrel was replaced by the word "PRO"
with dashes on both sides of the word.
|
 |
| 2009 |
Rawlings introduced a new center brand, similar to the previous
one, but with a smaller oval and a banner across the bottom that
read "Adirondack Pro."
