To the followers of MADE, I have been remiss in my postings here and I apologize. As happens with so many of us, other activities and interests have taken a priority in my life. That’s a good thing. And, none of this means that MADE has been any less active. In August we held our yard sale/fundraiser for the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF). I count that as a great success. Five dedicated members contributed and worked all day to raise $175 for the NCSF. A bunch of other members showed up for the BBQ/munch afterward. Thank you B, for the use of your home for this event.
Just last Saturday we held our Fall picnic. All in all, eleven people attended, one new, that had never been to one of our events before. The eats, the weather and the company were good. And, our inveterate firebugs kept things to reasonable levels for the bonfire afterward. I believe that everyone had a good time.
One other interesting thing that has come up is rumors that some people are looking for a change in the way MADE is structured. I don’t know where this is coming from. Maybe it is frustration with our Smartgroups forum. In any case perhaps this is good. A committee of volunteers will be meeting before the next munch to discuss options. These options will be presented for discussion, selection and adoption at September’s munch. Be sure not to miss that one.
