Guardian Spirits

I began making the small figures I call guardian spirits in February of 2003;

they are based on the hamsa hand of the Middle East,

but done in mixed media - mostly fiber & beads -

with various vintage & new components added.

I called them guardian spirits because that's what they've

been for me since my diagnosis of breast cancer in May of 2003.

I've sold some and I've given some away to other cancer survivors.

I do not measure my wealth by what I've accumulated,

but by what I've been given and what I've given.

I give thanks for the love of my family and friends.
