Hand Portraits

The hand portraits began in 2002 with a single idea...

to make beaded hand portraits of other local bead artists/friends.

I decided to start with an outline of their non-dominant hand

(left hand for right-hand, right for left-handed)

and then, using bead applique, make each one according

to their personality and beading style.

When the series was done, I had 12 hands which I

display as a single work but shown in two frames,

each one divided into 6 sections.
