Malcolm LeRoy Jones

 

    Services for Malcolm LeRoy Jones, 51, of McKenzie were at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at Enon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Beal officiating. Military services were at Oak Grove Cemetery in Trezevant.

    Mr. Jones, a correctional officer for Alabama Department of Corrections and a retired Sgt. First-Class with the U. S. Army.

    He was born December 31, 1944 in Calera, Alabama.  He retired from the Army after serving twenty years and was also a Vietnam War Veteran.  He graduated from the Alabama State Police Academy and George C. Wallace Jr. College with an Associate Degree in Social Services with a major in Law Enforcement.  He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Police.

    Survivors include wife, Betty Jean Broadway Jones; two daughters, Linda Conners and Valorie Jones both of Ft. Worth, Texas, two sons, Daniel E. Jones and John C. Jones, both of McKenzie; his mother, Minnie Yeager Jones of Columbiana, Alabama; three sisters, Frances Swan of Crestview, Florida, Betty Morris of Haleyville, Alabama and Madalyn Mitchell of Montevallo, Alabama; a brother, Richard Jones of Alabaster, Alabama; and six grandchildren. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. BACK
