Trezevant - Services for Tommie James Allen, 75, retired farmer, were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Enon Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Taylor, Rev. Vance Rushing and Rev. Charles Bailey officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery with Brummitt Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Edwin Gillette, Clifford Hewitt, John Rodell, Fredie Bartholomew, Charles Beal and Mike Strawn.
Mr. Allen died Thursday at McFarland Hospital in Lebanon.
He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church at McKenzie.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lissie Ervin Allen of Trezevant; six daughters, Mrs. Pearl Gillette of Lebanon, Mrs. Carolyn Rodell and Mrs. Betty Hewitt, both of Loogootee, Ind., Mrs. Helen Crowder of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Sarah Bartholomew of Memphis and Mrs. Kay Beal of McKenzie; seven sons, James Howard Allen of Lebanon, Gene Allen and Jim Allen, both of Los Angeles, Calif., William Allen and Donnie Allen, both of Trezevant, Thomas Allen and Richard Allen, both of McKenzie; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Purlick of Benton Harbor, Mich., Mrs. Ora V. Norwood and Mrs. Cassie Winston, both of McKenzie and Mrs. Oder Hooper of McQuen; four brothers, Leburn Allen and Lelan Allen both of Benton Harbor, Mich., Roy Allen of McKenzie and Henry Allen of Trezevant; and 34 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
