Silicone sealant/Aquarium Sealant

Care must be taken as some silicone sealers have additives for mold prevention and other purposes that make them toxic for aquarium usage.  Also silicone manufacturers seem to be careful to state their products as appropriate for aquarium usage except in cases of small aquariums (one of GE's disclamers allows usage for 5 gallon aquariums or less.

Interesting, today I found on GE's web site that under Applications - Construction "Aquarium" is listed:

http://www.gesilicones.com/gesilicones/am1/en/grade/mastergrade_kit_one_part.jsp?
masterGradeId=193&industryId=2&applicationId=15&applicationAreaId=34

This confirms this posting from Tom Wood in Oct 2000 and his quotes from replies he received from GE

Also note the following silicone sealants labeled as for aquarium usage:

All-Glass labeled aquarium sealant (see their product listed for caulk gun size)

Reference to GE sealant recommendation (suggest calling the number to verify)
