Bolton Refuge House Provides a variety of services for victims of domestic violence and victims of sexual assault. Some of those services are listed here. Emergency Shelter
Individual Advocacy (options counseling)

ShelterEmergency shelter is available for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault who do not feel safe in their own homes. Bolton Refuge House provides shelter for residents of Eau Claire, Chippewa, Jackson, Buffalo, and Trempeauleau counties of West Central Wisconsin. Referrals are given to shelters that serve counties outside this area. Visit our FAQs page.

Options CounselingAn advocate can help you break the silence, and take control over your own life. Advocates are on duty 24 hours a day, and can help you make a safety plan, access services with other agencies, and decide for yourself what options are right for you.

Support Groups
Transitional Housing

Support GroupsSupport groups can give victims and survivors a chance to share a supportive atmosphere with others who have “been there, done that.” All support groups are facilitated by staff and volunteers. More details here.

HousingSurvivors sometimes need extra time and extra help to meet their goals. Transitional housing is a program that allows survivors to work closely with support staff to identify barriers to self-sufficiency, and make a plan to overcome those barriers.

 

Legal Advocacy
Children's Services

Legal The Legal Advocate’s office is located at Bolton Refuge House in Eau Claire. The legal advocate can assist victims in obtaining restraining orders, navigating the legal system, and accessing other legal resources in the community.

 

ChildrenVictims of domestic violence or sexual assault often go to heroic lengths to protect their children from the violence. Even so, children often see or hear things that can have a dramatic affect on their lives. Children’s advocates can help you and your child heal together.
