R. Flake Shaw Scholarship Program
This race is intended to bring awareness to and support the R. Flake Shaw Scholarship Program of the NC Farm Bureau. The scholarships represent NC Farm Bureau's investment in the field of agriculture. Recipients have gone on to become outstanding leaders in the field of agriculture.
Scholarship recipients should intend to pursue a degree and career in agriculture or home economics, or in an agriculturally-related field. Scholarships are $3000 per year, awarded in May, and are renewable for up to 4 years. For more information regarding the scholarship and criteria, contact your county Farm Bureau, which is responsible for conducting the initial screening of applicants.
