This is a view of the console armrest for CatVert. The Cougar head embroidery was based on a late-model Cougar badge.  The embroidered portion is toward the front of the console armrest approximately where the Cobra emblem would be on a Shelby.

Below is a view of the dash with the new burled wood look.  The dash pieces were rechromed by John's Classic Cougars, then sent to Jeff Frens of Batavia, NY, for detailing. In addition to the new woodgrain, Jeff also detailed all of the gauges, including repair of broken needles.  The needles were then painted orange to match the after-market gauges that will be installed in the console.  An interesting side note here is that we subsequently learned that the dash A/C vent for XR-7 dashes is different from the one used on standard Cougars.  The difference is that the XR-7 vent has it's mounting holes further back from the front of the vent.

Below -  The XR-7G badges are back from the machine shop and now clearly identify CatVert as the XR-7C that Mercury should have built.  The two badges at the top will mount on the dash, while the badges at lower left and right will mount on the front grille and trunk lock cover, respectively.

Left - Just as the full-size CatVert progresses toward completion, so does the custom die-cast version of CatVert.  All that remains is to put the correct boot on the convertible top well and paint it in Saddle to match the interior.  The diecast customization is also a Jeff Frens product.
