Birch Harbor Oceanfront Cottage for Rent - 2009

2 bedroom - Oceanfront Redwood Cottage - excellent views & near Acadia National Park/Schoodic Point (Birch Harbor) - Great for kids and well-behaved pets!

Hi everyone,

My family is offering weekly rentals of our waterfront cottage in Maine.  The cottage is located on the Schoodic Peninsula, which is the northern peninsula of Acadia National Park.  It is quiet, private, and overlooks a small harbor.  There is a path directly down to the water, perfect for kayaks, canoes, etc.  We have had some wonderful times in the house and would like to see someone else enjoy it as much as we have over the years.  Feel free to bring well behaved pets along for your visit.  I have many photos so just drop me a note and I will send you some others.

Inside: Turn-key and fully furnished

2 Bedroom (full size beds in master and 2nd bedroom), 1 Bathroom.  Large main room with dining, living, and kitchen areas with large windows overlooking the harbor.  Kitchen (electric stove, electric hot water, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, blender, food processor), washer and dryer set up in new shed including storage, electric organ. TV with digital converter for over-the-air (no cable channels).

Outside

House sits on a ~1.5+ acre lot with no visible neighbors except across the harbor (very tranquil)  See map: Davis' Birch Harbor Cottage

It is situated on a rocky hill covered with blueberries and a path to the water and tide pools and has a large wrap-around deck

Waterfront excellent for kayaking in a protected non-commercial harbor

In years past we have kept a small 12' aluminum boat on an outhaul system (because of the tidal range)

It is the last house on the street with a long driveway so no traffic.

We even have clam rakes etc. if you are the adventurous type.

Good for kids and well-behaved pets.

Setting/Region

The house is located on the Schoodic Peninsula (northern peninsula of Acadia National Park)

Excellent proximity to multiple day trips: Acadia National Park (Schoodic Peninsula portion) 5 Minutes; Bar Harbor (Mt. Desert Island) 45 miles (It is around Frenchman’s Bay from Schoodic);  Acadia National Park (Mt. Desert Island) 45 miles;  Ellsworth 25 miles;  University of Maine 65 miles; Campobello 90 miles

Grocery store in town. Winter Harbor nearby with many stores and restaurants and ferry to Bar Harbor, golf, tennis, bicycling, kayak rental and guided trips. See www.georgespond.com for other area attractions.

Renting

We rent Monday to Monday - this makes for easier travel with less traffic

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your week(s)

Remainder of rental fee is due 2-3 weeks prior to arrival.
