Sony SW1

These are excellent portable radios but most suffer from bad surface mount electrolytic capacitors causing low sensitivity and bad or no audio. If yours is making a motorboat sound, that's your problem. Once these are repaired you'll have a marvelous portable SW receiver.

Sony ICF-Pro80

The Sony Pro80 was also ahead of its time. It's a great performer for it's size but you'll need the manual to figure it out. It also suffers from bad capacitors so keep that in mind if you buy one on the used market. It doesn't cost much to repair these yourself but if your not up to the task figure around $100 to have it done. Both the Pro80 and SW1 are tedious to repair and require steady hands and magnified light and a very fine soldering iron.

Grundig Satellit 700

What a nice portable radio. The 700 is a pleasure to listen to with it's nice audio. A great program listeners radio. I always wanted one and just recently got lucky and found one. Here's a pic of them all together to show their sizes in relation to each other.
