description: The
Star Wars saga continues! The Force Unleashed: Art of the Game chronicles the
four-year development of the anxiously awaited, action-packed video game
(releasing April 2008) developed by LucasArts from conception to completion.
The book reveals innovative game design concept and images, three-dimensional
renders, and behind-the-scenes photos. The Force Unleashed game casts players
as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new
revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under
direction from George Lucas, is set during the unexplored era between Star Wars
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The game
re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of new
technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time, such as
Digital Molecular Matter (DMM) by Pixelux Entertainment and euphoria by
NaturalMotion Ltd., paired with the powerful Havok Physics (TM) system. These
new technologies create gameplay only possible on the new generation of
consiles. DMM incorporates the physical properties of objects in the environment
so that every element reacts exactly as it should--wood breaks like wood, glass
shatters like glass, Felucian plants bend in their unique way, and more.
Meanwhile, as a revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria enables
interactive characters to move, act, and even think like actual human beings,
adapting their behavior and resulting in a different response every single
time. Well before its release, The Force Unleashed game is already buzzing on
blogs and gamer websites, at gamer conferences, and among Star Wars fans.
LucasArts is fully backing the promotion of the game to the tens of millions of
Star Wars fans around the world.

Even as the Clone Wars are about to reach an
explosive climax, no one knows if victory will favor the Grand Army of the
Republic (GAR) or the Separatists. But no matter who wins, the stakes are highest for elite Special Ops clones like the Republic Commandos in Omega and Delta
squads -- and the notorious renegade Advance Recon Commando troopers known as
Null ARCs.
With Republic forces stretched to the max and
casualties mounting, the last thing these beleaguered warriors need to hear is
that Chancellor Palpatine is keeping vast armies of secret clone troops in reserve. Sergeant
Skirata, a mentor to the clone commandos, has no intention of standing idly by while Palpatine sends them into
battle like lambs to the slaughter. Skirata begins to plan the clones' escape
from the GAR, but his heroic effort will be in vain unless he can reverse the
clones' accelerated aging process. To pull that feat off, he will need the
services of Separatist scientist Ovolot Qail Uthan, currently under lock and
key in a GAR fortress prison. Caught in the treacherous dealings of their
leaders, and locked in the battles of their lives, the disillusioned Null ARCs
and Commandos nonetheless fight with everything they've got, determined to
wrest victory from the Seps and save the galaxy.
But even the deadliest weapons may not be
powerful enough to defeat the real menace. And nothing will stop the
apocalyptic horror unleashed when Palpatine utters the chilling words: The time
has come. Execute Order 66. Translation: The Jedi have tried to stage a coup,
and all must be shot on sight.
With
their faith in the Republic and their loyalty to their Jedi allies put to the

STAR WARS:
MILLENIUM FALCON
advertisment frm the back of Legacy of the
Force: Invincible (SPOILER-WARNING): With the end of the brief but brutal reign of Darth
Caedus comes a period of unexpected stability. Under the strong hand of former
Imperial Admiral Daala, star systems set aside their differences in the hope of
forging a lasting peace.
But for the Jedi, many of whom had
once looked to Jacen Solo for inspiration, the transition has been anything but
smooth, as Luke Skywalker strives to chart a new course for the Order, and
groped for an understanding of what ultimately drove his nephew to embrace the
dark teachings of the evil Sith Lords.
The road to reconciliation has been
harder still for Han and Leia Solo, who have now lost both of their sons. Some
measure of solace comes in the form of Allana, Jacen's Force sensitive
daughter, whom the Solos have adopted at the request of the girl's mother,
Queen Tenel Ka of Hapes. But Han, especially, craves the distraction of action,
so he, Leia and Allana embark on an investigation into the origin of the
Millennium Falcon, the charmed starship that has seen Han through so many years
of adventure.
By all indications, their quest
should be safe, innocent: something to keep them interested and busy. But as
they piece together the clues of the past, hints of a more profound mystery
begin to reveal themselves, and a faceless threat lies in wait--one that has
already launched a tentative assault not only on the Jedi Order, but on the
Force itself.

Bane promulgated a harsh new directive: the Rule of Two.
Two there should be; no more, no less.
One to embody the
power, the other to crave it.
Now Darth Bane is
ready to put his policy into action, and he thinks he has found the key element
that will make his triumph complete: a student to train in the ways of the dark
side. Though she is young, Zannah possesses an instinctive link to the dark
side that rivals his own. With his guidance, she will become essential in his
quest to destroy the Jedi and dominate the galaxy.
But there is one who is determined to stop Darth Bane:
Johun Othone, Padawan to Jedi Master Lord Hoth, who died at Bane’s hands in the
last great Sith War. Though the rest of the Jedi scoff at him, Joshua’s belief
that there are surviving Sith on the loose is unshakeable.
As Johun continues his dogged pursuit of the man who killed his master, Zannah,
faced unexpectedly with a figure from her past, begins to question her embrace
of the dark side. And Darth Bane is led by Force-induced visions to a moon
where he will acquire astonishing new knowledge and power–power that will alter
him in ways he could never have imagined...

Skywalker plans to assassinate the Sith Emperor Darth Krayt. The first step in

their “secret weapon”—Celeste Morne, an ancient Jedi Knight of the Old Republic
who is in possession of—and possibly possessed by—the powerful Muur Talisman.

THE CLONE WARS – WILD SPACE
NEW YORK, NY – June 25, 2008 – LucasBooks and
Del Rey, an imprint of Ballantine Books at the Random House Publishing Group,
announced today that Del Rey will publish five novels to tie-in with the
upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars feature film, premiering on August 15, and the animated TV series that
will air in fall of 2008 on Cartoon Network and TNT.
The first novel – Star Wars: The Clone Wars – is written by fan-favorite Star Wars author Karen Traviss,
and will go on sale July 26, 2008. Popular science-fiction/fantasy author Karen
Miller will write the second novel, to be published in December 2008. Both
books will add depth, color and background to the screen stories and
characters, making them must-reads for every Star Wars fan.
The story follows the heroic Jedi Knights as
they struggle to maintain order and restore peace during the tumultuous Clone
Wars. More and more systems are falling prey to the forces of the dark side as
the Galactic Republic slips further and further under the sway of the
Separatists and their never-ending droid army. Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan
learner Ahsoka Tano find themselves on a mission with far-reaching
consequences, one that brings them face-to-face with crime lord Jabba the Hutt.
But Count Dooku and his sinister agents, including the nefarious Asajj
Ventress, will stop at nothing to ensure that Anakin and Ahsoka fail at their
quest. Meanwhile, on the front lines of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi and
Master Yoda lead the massive clone army in a valiant effort to resist the
forces of the dark side.
Del
Rey Editor Shelly Shapiro says, “It is a gift to all Star Wars fans
to see the franchise continue to grow and develop under the watchful and
ever-inventive eye of its creator, George Lucas. The Star Wars
galaxy is one of the richest fictional “worlds” ever invented, and it is
exciting to be able to explore this new area with novels, as we’ve done with so
much success–and so much fun–with the original six movies.”

STAR WARS: LEGACY OF THE FORCE # 9: INVINCIBLE (paperback reprint)
No war can last forever. Now, in the long and
punishing battle between the defiant champions of the New Jedi Order and the
juggernaut that is the Galactic Alliance, the endgame is finally at hand. With
so much lost–and nothing less than the course of the future still at
stake–there can be no turning back. No matter the consequences.
The rebel cause is losing ground under the twin blows
of Admiral Gilad Pellaeon’s assassination and the death of Mara Jade Skywalker.
At the same time, having gained the support of the Imperial Remnant and its
ruthlessly efficient forces, the Galactic Alliance, with the extraordinary
power and dark brilliance of newly ascendant Sith Lord Darth Caedus at its
helm, may be unstoppable. Tormented and torn between the call of duty and the
thirst for vengeance, Luke has searched the Force and beheld an unspeakable
vision of the galaxy enslaved under tyranny more monstrous than even
Palpatine’s. Now it seems that the last, best hope lies in mobilizing the
scattered Jedi for one decisive search-and-destroy mission. The objective:
eliminate Darth Caedus.
It’s a plan that will be as difficult and dangerous to
execute as it is daring. For Caedus is a scion of both the Skywalker and Solo
bloodlines whose command of the Force surpasses even that of his grandfather
Darth Vader. There is only one who is bound by destiny
to stand against him in what will surely be a duel to the death, only one with
an outside chance of bringing down the dark lord who was once Jacen Solo.
Failure is not an
option. The furious final moments between power and peace are here, and whoever
confronts Darth Caedus will decide the outcome–and the fate of those left
standing.
