HIV/AIDS is devastating the nation of Belize. Seeing the need, four years ago, My Refuge Christian Ministries initiated ministry outreach to those suffering from this deadly disease. My Refuge Christian Ministries is the Belizean representative of He Intends Victory, an American HIV/AIDS outreach ministry. Teams from He Intends Victory come to Belize nearly every year to do outreach and ministry as well as educate the Belizean people concerning HIV and AIDS. For more information on He Intends Victory, click here. We are working towards providing local toll-free number 0-800-HIV-HOPE for individuals wishing to receive counseling. As of August 2004, this is still pending. |

Future Plans My Refuge is preparing to build a care and discipleship center. As of August 2004, materials and land are available. All that remains in a workforce to build the center. The use of the facility to to have HIV infected people stay, learn and be introduced into the hope of Christ. Individuals would stay for three months. After that point, they would return to family members for care. The goals of the center:

How can you help?
There are many needs here ranging from caregivers to counseling. People who have a passion to share from a Christian perspective how to live with HIV/AIDS are needed. People who are willing to share God's love with victims of this deadly disease are needed. Facts about HIV/AIDS and Belize:
