The Birmingham Soaring Society is dedicated to teaching and enjoying the art of soaring in central Alabama. We fly from a turf runway at the Flying X Ranch in Montevallo, AL. Visitors are welcome to come out to the field and observe our operation! Ask us about our introductory membership. With instruction you can become the solo pilot of a sailplane in a few months. Or come out and add a glider rating to your existing pilot certificate.
