36 sm from Vulcan VOR on the 175 deg. radial
4 miles WSW of Shelby County Airport (EET).
Field elevation 466 ft.
Runway 17/35: turf, 2,900 ft.
Fly left-hand pattern to Runway 17 unless significant northerly wind is a factor.
Trees and power lines at south end of runway.
CTAF of 123.5 MHz is sometimes monitored.Visiting aircraft are welcome but are advised to exercise caution. When soaring operations are in progress, typically on weekends, there are gliders thermaling, tow planes making rapid descents and student pilots in the air. When we are not soaring, cattle graze on the runway. If you are unfamiliar with the Flying X Ranch, do not attempt to land at times other than Saturday or Sunday afternoons without prior contact with a club officer.
Please minimize noise impact on our neighbors, particularly those located south and west of the field. Ultralight aircraft are not permitted.
