PURPOSE:To
assist and enable handicapped persons to discover , enter and participate
in the hobby enjoyed around the globe by the world wide fraternity of Amateur
Radio Operators (Hams).
To illustrate
to the handicapped that the knowledge, skills and self esteem gained as
a result of studying for and passing the rigid license examinations, and
meeting the strict requirements of the FCC which permit the operation of
an Amateur Radio station, can be applied not only to our unique hobby,
but also toward preparation for future employment.
To foster
and perpetuate goodwill, fellowship and mutual support for handicapped
"Hams" in particular and members of the Amateur Radio fraternity in general.
To use the
license and privileges earned in assisting not only the handicapped, but
anyone anywhere by providing a public service as a radio communications
network to handle routine and emergency messages and traffic during natural
or man made disasters.
To operate
our personal, privately owned Amateur Radio stations Monday through Friday
from 7 am till 10 am Pacific Time (1500 till 1800 UTC) for the purpose
of communicating with each other, and to be available for anyone inquiring
about membership, seeking assistance and/or information relative to the
use and operation of their stations with specialized equipment or modifications
made necessary as a result of their individual , special needs.
To provide
extensive information in print or on cassette tape about specialized equipment
for the handicapped Ham or those learning to be one.
To provide
a network whereby Net members who are experts in various fields are available
to counsel or assist any person, no matter what the handicap or need may
be. |
