My husband Will and I and our crew of Dobermans live in the woods about 10 miles from Grand Rapids, Michigan.  I purchased my first Doberman in the mid 1970's. Bergie was a Ch. Hoytt's Collossus von Collossus son who was too small to show in conformation. Bergie was the ultimate in Doberboys ... smart, fearless, loyal, and sweet as can be!  I joined the Goldcoast Kennel Club and showed Bergie in Obedience.  I was "sold" on the breed!

Since our beloved Bergie, we have always had at least one Doberman!  I continued to show in Obedience and helped our veterinarian rehome Dobermans throughout the 1980's. In the late 1980's, I decided I wanted something to show in Conformation. I purchased a few "show prospects" that didn't quite turn out. Then I tried to improve what I had by breeding them to something better. Hmmm... THAT didn't work!   I started studying the Standard with the hopes that I would learn enough to finally get that perfect show dog.
