A Year in Review

The year began with a great trip to Stone Mountain 4/11-4/15. Highlights included

-bike riding (except Luke who was 13 months old) -Spartanism

-Meeting David and Rebecca  - Gramma Coke and Hauling the Pot

-Spartanism  - Tammy being scared riding the lift to the top

-Riding the DUKs – Stone Mountain Jr. –borrowing out neighbors fire to make smores

-         Daniel saying “I can tell that’s Joanna by the legs”, and David walking around the camper  - Luke being bitten by a dog with one tooth!

6/1-6/4 Dan Nichols Park

-         The Museum was awesome!!!!!

-         Just dump your turd wagon here NEAR the hole, and, we’re have a free cookout next week ya’ll should come back

-         And who can forget Chi-Chi, we still miss that dog!

-         It rained as hard as I’ve ever seen while camping

-         No Alcohol or intoxicating liquors allowed!

7/5-7/9 Jelly Stone

-         One of my personal favorites of the season

-         Tubing (that hurt a little)  - hiking the Gold Rush trail with the kids

-         Trying Luke’s screened play room

-         Joe Dill the truck man       -crafts for the kids  -John Deere fisherman

-         Chicken salad from the freezerator       -lemon chellos, fine wine, and green ones

-         Big Mary’s new and USED firewood

 

         

8/10-8/13 Rivers Edge

-         NICE BATHROOMS

-         Splash Park was AWESOME!!!!     -yellow jackets were a bit much

-         Dolly Wood was a bit warm         -Tam’s birthday party was fun! 3 full Monty’s

-         Last ride of the Cramper             - Melinda named Luke “RUBY”!!!

10/27-10/30 Wolly Worm Fest

-         the members of PCC were overwhelmed by a case of PCC (Pickens County Crud)

-         this epidemic outbreak caused this trip to be cancelled, we can only hope to reschedule in 07

11/3-11/5 Oconee State Park

-         nice park close to home   

-         -first official meeting of PCC as the 69 made her first trip

-         it was cold, we burned A LOT of wood           

-         - kids did fire races (under the close supervision of our CEO and founder S.Whitmire)  -David and Rebecca showed to officially close the camping season, and get a “PERFECT” hard boiled egg

-         Putt-putt closet to the hole was fun       - Clark Rhetburg, Alexander “anything” Simmons joined the group as guests of PCC Director Silas Whitmire

-         It was great to see them all work together to gather wood, although that laurel thicket will not recover for 10-15 year

 

 

FOOD

Again many thanks go to President M. Whitmire and V.P. Tam Brazinski for the awesome food that was prepared throughout the rally season

-         Meatballs

-         Cheesy Orzo – Breakfast Casseroles – Burgers and Dogs –and suckers for Luke

-         Nothing like getting to watch one of the girls get upset with the fare that is served either!! hahahah!

-        In all seriousness, THANK YOU!!!

New BUSINESS

We need to set a rally planning date for the 07 season. It has been suggested that this happen in the month of December and the President and VP set the date. All officers and Directors are required to attend.

 

Our logo contest is still open to all members that wish to participate! Entry deadline is the end of November for the 07 season.

 

By Laws Update

1.     Own a vintage camper, and or, know someone who does.

2.     Live in or have lived in Pickens County, or know someone who does.

3.     Be of general good disposition.

 

Note to Directors

 

Dear Directors it would be hard find a better group to camp with, you attitudes and behavior make camping a very enjoyable endeavor. I hope that you are forming great friendships that outlast any vintage camper. THANK YOU!
