RayTech hand piece checkout by Don Rogers

 

Paul ask me about the linearity of the protractor on the RayTech.  We had done some rough checks on his machine at the San Diego Show in June.  Well, I have a new "Tool" that when used with a $2.95 set of small drafting angles will give you the info you need for how well your machine is doing on the accuracy of the protractor.  

First, where is the accuracy important?  Most of the cutting we do is between 10 deg and 50 deg. So, if our protractor is off a bit, it is better that it be off on the 90 deg end, not the 0 deg.  

When Paul and I met in June, we checked out the run-out on his lap, the run-out on the platform, and the alignment of the platform to the lap. These are the first steps of the alignment and you need to resolve any problem shown with these check before going on to the next step. You can see the checks we did at
