no coaster underneath it

nothing to suggest

you may not be coming home

you left your jacket in the closet

wrinkled, hanging, dry

no money in the pockets

nothing to tell me

this was goodbye

you left your book on the sofa

finished, nearly, done

no marker to keep the pages

nothing at all to say

baby, I'll be gone a while

you didn't leave the lights on

you put the groceries away

you left your music playing

our song, on repeat all day
