Honeysuckle
By Jen Zeni
If I could find a small honeysuckle,
Who's taste as sweet would be as our first kiss,
Then on it all day long would I suckle,
So not one drop of ambrosia would I miss.
If I could find such smooth and soft petals,
As your light lips upon my breast and brow,
Then they would me adorn as gold medals
Of moments treasured then and memories now.
If I could find as pretty in my hair
A blossom, as your gentle fingers' touch,
Then ever would I have them resting there,
And nothing's loss could hurt nearly as much.
But not this loved could any flower be,
So I must keep you always here with me.
