Released

By Kati Frazier

You asked me again.

Just offhandedly said

you wanted to do something tomorrow.

I ignored it.

Knowing you'd ask,

but not wanting to let you.

It's been two years

of your silly

'platonic' mind games.

Saying you love me

but no kiss?

Saying you love me

but I am never missed.

You asked me again.

I've felt trapped,

unable to say no

to the one who claimed to love me.

When would I find that again?

I've waited for you to unlock my cell,

make me feel I had a choice.

I don't want you to feel denied,

but that thought is betrayed

by my voice.

"Sorry, I'm busy"

You look a bit surprised,

but recover quickly.

Trying to invent

a new mind game

to cultivate your lies

But I remain

independant

Leave someone

locked up long enough,

they'll manage to

release themselves.

Back Home!
