I have gained little strength

from these trials, aimed

to empower me.

I have gained little strength

from the words said,

to heal my sight

and make me see.

I have gained little strength

from your comfort,

Your so-called solace.

It has only

made me weak.

I have gained little strength

from joining broken hearts,

and misplacing trust.

Those are no longer

what I seek

The bit of strength I own,

I found hidden

deep within my soul.

It's all that makes my lips sure,

and frees my mouth to speak.
