When you enter a chatroom for the very first time it can be something of a shock to be in a world that is both overwhelming by its activity, and by the use of certain online 'formalities' that some people often find a little odd.
And people that log onto BDSM chatrooms often expect them to be knee deep in discussions about various toys, or describing the lastest technique of spanking or torture. Far from it - a BDSM chatroom is the same as any other, a medium so that like minded people can chat, whether just socialising as a widespread group or chatting about the weather, food, sport and all the other things people usually chat about.
So don't expect to drop into an exciting discussion at first, or expect to make an instant contact either. The chatroom is a way of establishing contact with people, getting to know them in a friendly humourous enviroment, and later maybe meeting them in the future in the real world.
But in most BDSM chatrooms there are a few things that are different - more to do with how you present yourself and how you can be perceived by others.
