First Times Where to start? That's hard to know but how about in London_Based_BDSM. For those of you that know me now, this is the boring bit, skip to paragraph two. Having been into BDSM for ten years behind closed doors and having recently become single, I made the decision to come 'out' as it were. So here I was in a chat channel, and a very friendly one too. I found that these people were easy to talk to and understand, a very nice group. They invited me along to the munch but I was unable to make it, creating doubt in some people that I was nothing more than a HNG (Horny Net Geek - someone who is only interested in 'picking up' an online date). So I decided "LFF here I come!"
Getting there was fun, I took BirdOfParadise, my lodger with me and I don't know which one of us was more nervous. I guess it was me though, I must have looked like a rabbit in headlights all day, although nobody said I did. Well BOP and I got lost several times and with the help of ^Thunder^ we got there two hours later than we expected.
On arrival ^Thunder^ came in with us as we wandered in and paid our monies. My first impression was that I was dressed completely wrong. Everyone there was wearing BLACK!! I felt so out of place, but I thought that I'd just stick it out, nothing wrong with looking and dressing differently. I mean we all have our own special kinks, and who's to say that just because I was dressed differently from the crowd makes me any less kinky than anyone else?
^Thunder^ kindly got me a drink, of coke, to settle my nerves a little, and I rang hotwax to see if he was there. Useful items to keep in one's handbag in case of the emergency of finding someone you've only seen a picture of!
The four of us stood near a stall for a bit chatting away, settling down, my heart was racing like no tomorrow. I had come to the fair with three intentions, first was to prove that I existed, second was to buy a top to go out to a club in, and the last reason was to get over my fears of being 'out'.
So after our four-way chat, I went off to shop with my two new friends and my lodger. We looked around at the stalls and ended up at the Ectomorph one, which had some of the most gorgeous items of clothing. Having been an Internet shopper for 'kinky' stuff for many years it was an amazing thrill to be there actually touching the fabrics. The lady who helped me select the right top for me was extremely nice. She knew about her products and I gave her the specifications of the required top and hey presto, she produced just the one I was looking for. Staff in stores are not as helpful as the stall holders there. I think the next customer service course anyone ever takes should be hosted and taught by the people there.
^Thunder^ kindly introduced me to loads of people while I was there. All very friendly, and hugging loads. One person I met sticks out in my mind, someone I'm sure you have all met at some point whether it be in real life or in the channel, certainly someone you wouldn't miss should you attend an event!
The bar area was packed, in fact the whole place was crammed with people, but they were all polite, no pushing and shoving like you get in Tesco's when you are trying to get your monthly food shopping done.
I had a fantastic day, and I'm certainly going to go back. I'm also looking forward to my first 'munch' on the 15th, so I wasn't scared off at all.
I'd certainly recommend popping into the channel for a chat with some of the peeps, and arranging to meet up. They are a great bunch, and I'm looking forward to making some new and wonderful friends out of them all, in line with some of the ones I have already made!!
So go on. If you haven't been before, try it... Just once! I did.
