Safety
Although we promote the idea of SSC (Safe, Sane and Consensual) there are certain risks that we take when indulging in a BDSM lifestyle. This does not mean that we are foolish though, even crossing a road is a 'risk' but eliminating all risk in our lives is impossible. What we can do is minimise the unneccesary risks by taking as much care as we can.
This section covers some common sense ideas to help you introduce yourself into the lifestyle in the safest possible way.
We will cover more safety issues pertaining to 'play' in particular in our Toys section.

Advice on safety by Jay Wiseman, author of the book SM101
This is a shocking account of how badly things can go wrong. Despite this we recommend that everyone should read this. This really happened and it could happen to you too unless you're prepared and keep yourself safe. (We are extremely proud of dy2ke for having the courage to share such a wrenching experience and applaud her selfless, giving nature for revealing and remembering such a painful time in order to serve as a warning to others, to maybe prevent it from happening to someone else.)
