GL1200 Ltd. and SEI Repair -- The GL/GR Sensors First measure at the ECU Connector terminals. For the Gr Sensor, measure between the #8 and the #24 Terminals of the ECU Connector. The resistance should be 140 - 180 Ohms. For the Gl Sensor, measure between the #7 and the #24 Terminals of the ECU Connector. The resistance should be 140 - 180 Ohms. If you have these resistance measurements, then the Gl/Gr Sensors are probably OK. If you have a reading significantly different from these, then find the Gl/Gr Sensor Connector at the front left side of the frame. After you have found the connector, a WHITE 4 pin connector on the front top of the frame. (You will probably have to remove the Coils) disconnect it, and take readings at the terminals between the WHITE w/Yellow Tube wire and the YELLOW wire . The reading should be 140 - 180 Ohms. Then measure between the BLUE wire and the GREEN w/BLUE & WHITE wire. The reading should be 140 - 180 Ohms. Then measure each of the four terminals to ground. There should be NO continuity. If your measurements are much different than these, REPLACE the GL/GR Sensors as a pair. They are located under the cover at the back of the right side Cylinder Head. If your measurements are about the same, then check the wiring harness from the Gl/Gr Sensor Connector back through the various connectors to the ECU. Correct any wiring harness problems, and then repeat the first test. GL/GR SENSORS AIR GAP Remove the cover plate from the Gl/Gr Sensors on the right cylinder head. Align the rotor projection up with the sensors, and set the AIR GAP to 0.58 - 0.62 mm (.023 - .024 in.) Replace the cover. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Table of Contents
