GL1200 Ltd. and SEI Repair -- The TW Sensor The TW Sensor is located on top of the engine block, just slightly above the Fuel Pump. The TW Sensor connector is at the top front of the frame near the Steering Head. It is a BLUE 2 pin connector. With the Connector REMOVED and the KEY ON, measure between the two terminals with the VOLTMETER. (back towards the ECU side) You should have a reading in the 4.75 - 5.25 VOLT range. If you do NOT, check the wiring harness and connectors back to the ECU. It is also possible that you have lost the 5 VOLT Regulated Power Supply in the ECU. With the KEY OFF and the Connector REMOVED, Measure across the T-W Sensor TERMINALS with an OHMETER. You should have a reading between 1K-3K Ohms at room temperature. (1000 - 3000 Ohms.) If the reading is not within this range, REPLACE the T-W Sensor. ADDITIONAL CHECKS FOR THE T-W SENSOR Remove the T-W Sensor.(Drain the Cooling system first) Suspend it in water so that it os NOT touching the sides of the pan. APPLY HEAT. (The kitchen Stove will work) As the temperature rises, the Ohms should fall back to 300 - 400 Ohms at about 175 Degrees. Comment: Use a thermometer in the pan, or be able to monitor the water temperature in some way. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Table of Contents
