| Diane Hajnal Biography |
Diane was born September 16, 1944 in Montreal, Canada. She grew up on a farm in a large family of ten brothers and sisters. Music and art permeated her French Canadian heritage and both became important influences in her life early on. She studied art with a variety of teachers, the most important of which was the renowned painter and sculptor, the late Leopard Schwartz. His influence shaped the style and the character of her work which she developed to her own unique art form of today. Although Diane Hajnal sold some major pieces of her art to private collectors, she largely stayed away from mass exposure. She participated in a few juried art exhibitions, winning several First Prize awards and sold paintings, however, the main body of her paintings is at her studio and home in the Pacific Palisades, where she lives with her husband of 36 years. She has two grown children. Diane Hajnal has been teaching art since 1990 and several of her students have become successful artists of their own. She also produced several public service murals within the cities of Los Angeles and Santa Monica and taught art to disadvantaged youth in a special community service program sponsored by the City of Los Angeles. In 2005 Diane Hajnal was persuaded to share her art with art lovers everywhere and she agreed to be represented to this end. |
