At some point, I was finally convinced to "upgrade" the cabinet to Windows. In retrospect, this was probably a mistake, but it did allow me to use the Act-Labs Lightgun, which has rapidly become the most popular feature of the cabinet. Contrary to what you would think, setting up all of the software for Windows is proving far more complicated than for DOS, and after three months of reworking the cabinet, it is still not complete.
One of the side effects of upgrading was needing a new control panel with a properly-oriented trackball with buttons to act as a mouse. Thus, a new control panel overlay was needed, and this snowballed into an almost complete art upgrade (the only thing I didn't redo was the marquee).
