Studio Info STUDIO’S HISTORY - founded in 1984, offers each student the opportunity to study & advance in the disciplines of Classical Ballet & Pointe, Tap, Modern & Lyrical Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip Hop & House, Turns & Technique & offers Performance Opportunities for all ages & levels. This starts from the child's first encounter with music & movement to their emergence as a Professional Dancer. We also offer specialty classes designed to enhance a Dancers technique & expand their abilities in the world of Dance. Director, Julie Downey is a Graduate of Cal Poly University in Recreation Administration with an emphasis in "Dance Arts", with extensive experience as a Professional Dancer/Choreographer Teacher. We are a training school & are proud of our students: *Our "Goal" is to provide a source of technical & artistic training in Dance & to build self confidence & a positive self esteem* DANCE TECHNIQUE: The foundation of all dance necessary for the linear & technical development of the dancer. The art of finding control & mastery of expressive movement as it relates to dance development. Emphasis on placement, technique & strength. Utilizes basic musical counts & varied rhythm patterns. All dancers will benefit in the study of centering, gravity, balance, posture, coordination, gesture, rhythm and imagery.DRESS CODE: Dancers are expected to attend class in appropriated "Dance Dress Code". No, street cloths allowed in class. A professional appearance is essential to a Dancer’s total self-image & a disciplined class. Please do not wear your dance shoes out side of studio, we don’t want grease/oil on dance floor. *No bandana’s, hats or dangling jewelry allowed in class* *Girls Hair - pulled away from your face - pony tail or bun*
BALLET STUDENTS FAIRYTALE BALLET age 3-7 - wear all pink attire (shoes/tights/leotard/skirt) AGE 8 YEARS- TEEN -pink/black or traditional Ballet apparel (leotard/tights) & appropriate Ballet skirt (no t-shirts) BOYS- wear black leggings or sweats & white t-shirt (No - baggie cover ups allowed in any class) ADULTS - Appropriate Ballet Attire
JAZZ - TAP - LYRICAL OR SPECIALTY CLASSES Appropriate Dance pants-leggings-Capri-warmers, Dance top - T-shirt - leotard (no street cloths) (shinny black lycra jazz pants are recommended & used in most studio performances)
HIP HOP & HOUSE CLASSES Appropriate Dance Clothing & Sneakers are Perferred or street cloths that you can move in is ok!
