A Jazzy Nutcracker like the Central Coast has never seen before! 

DECEMBER 11TH 2004      SATURDAY 2:30PM CUESTA COLLEGE AUDITORIUM

TICKETS ON SALE NOVEMBER 1ST 2004

Each December the Studio has a Wonderful Holiday Show! Our last professional, traditional Nutcracker was in 1994. After a while all Nutcrackers look the same, right? So, this year we are going to have fun & add a lot of new & a touch of the old & call it "The Cracked Nut’. Please start telling everyone you know about the show! Our goal is a full audience, so our dancers will be even more dynamic!

 

CRACKED NUT - STUDENT PERFORMANCE FEE

$30.00 PER FAMILY   DUE BY   OCTOBER 15TH

Individual dancers or 1 fee per family, is required. This fee gives you 2 complementary tickets (good for any age) & reserves your spot in the show. This fee also goes towards the deposit for the Theater, helps with fees for our Dress Rehearsal & Security for all events. There are also 5 full time theater staff members that we have to hire, that operate the theater for this performance. It also will help cover each families portion of the required Cuesta Theater Restoration Fee. Our professional production will cost over $15,000 to put on for just "one" show! Please turn in the recital fee on or before October 15th. If you add this amount to your tuition, please write on the memo line-Recital Fee & class, etc & your tickets will be in an envelope available at the desk the 1st week of November. Dancers in the show, do not need a ticket. However, everyone else sitting in the audience will need to purchase a ticket. (age 3 & up) Additional tickets may be purchased at the regular show ticket prices. Tickets will be on sale November 1st. I wish we could offer everyone free tickets but we have to cover our overhead, so your special dancer has a place to perform the wonderful dances he/she is working so hard to show you, family & friends! Please spread the word about our "Exciting Holiday Extravaganza"

FLOWERS &  PRACTICE TAPES

Limited flowers bouquets are available in our lobby for your special dancers the day of the show! Pre-order forms are available in November. Please bring a blank cassette to class, so we can tape your recital music for you to practice with at home!

 

 

TECH REHEARSAL - THURSDAY DECEMBER 9TH  6:00-9:30PM (company dancers only)

DRESS REHEARSAL - FRIDAY DECEMBER 10TH   6:00-10:00pm - all dancers (evening time schedule available Dec 1st)

BOTH TECH & DRESS  REHEARSALS ARE AT CUESTA COLLEGE AUDITORIUM

Be prepared for extra weekend rehearsals at the studio as the show gets closer! Extra rehearsal, are your makeup classes, as the upcoming holidays arise.            Please remember Decembers full tuition must be paid the 1st week of the month so dancers may participate in the show.

 

COSTUMES

Costumes are being ordered, made & some are available to rent. Notes are being sent home & fees need to be turned in on time, to ensure your costume will be ready for the production. Please check with you teacher if you don’t receive a note by mid October.

PARENT HELPERS

We always need help at the show!

If you are interested in donating your time to make the show even better, please sign up at the desk. We have many different areas we need help with: costumes, decorating, preshow/aftershow, during & intermission :) A big Thank you to Liz Moore, Graphic Artist, for designing our posters for the show!!

 

PERFORMING COMPANY SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISER

Our performing companies need to raise $15,000 this year for upcoming events, conventions & competitions. The day of our Nutcracker we will have an assortment of baskets available to you to bit on in the lobby. Each baskets will have a theme. They make great holiday gifts also. They will include things like weekend get a-ways, bath & body, pets, coffee & teas, sweets & goodies, young ladies & gentlemen, his & hers, sports, entertainment's, etc. If you have a local business & would like to donate items & have your business receive great recognition & publicity. Personal donations are also welcome. Please contact the studio for more information.  Thank you for your support!

Pre-Orders are now being taken.   Forms are available at the desk.   Make checks to C.C. Dance!

"NO" personal Video cameras will not allowed at the show, since we are

having the show professional taped for your convince. Also, "NO" Flash photography is allowed during the show!

We will be arranging a picture day in early December at the Dance Studio to take class & individual pictures.  Pre-order Forms will be available the 1st week in November. Your class times for your pictures will be posted in the boutique by mid November. If you want special individual photographs taken, pre-sign ups are necessary. Pictures make wonderful holiday gifts.

$28 a month for 1x a week

$42.00 a month for 2x a week

$9.00 a single class

Its a great dance/stretch/toning/exercise  program with Miss Kellie.

TUITION - REMINDER!

*FULL TUITION*- is due every month even for days missed by holidays or illness & due the 1st class of the month to avoid a $10.00 late fee.                    This reserves your place in class!

A NOTE FROM - ARTISTIC DIRECTOR - JULIE 

We are celebrating our 3rd Cracked Nut Performance in December & in reality we only have 3 1/ 2 months to prepare for this production. There are always weekend rehearsals involved in each show, competition & production.  This production requires me to work 7 days a week for 3 1/2 months. "SO" -  this is your role: Stay positive & motivated during all rehearsals (no monkey business) - attend all classes/rehearsals on time, so we can limit weekend rehearsals. Practice your parts & dances. Fridays & Saturdays will definitely be a rehearsal day (12:30-8ish), so just plan on it ahead of time, we will try to limit Sunday rehearsal to a minimum. Please remember, once I have taught you your part or a dance, it is up to you, how long it takes to become performance ready. Lets have the best holiday performance we've had in 21 years! Good luck Dancers!!!

COSTUMES - Nutcracker Costume rental fees:  Most costumes in the show are going to be rented, which will save you alot of expenses in personal items.           As costumes are sent home, please take good care of them! Most will require lite ironing before the show.

FUNDRAISER - SEPTEMBER 25TH   9:00-2:0P0PM

BAR-BE-QUE & GARAGE SALE!

Information & tickets are being handed out the week of Sept 7th!   make sure you recieved a packet! Each dancers must sell atleast 5 meals or turn in $40.00 towards your competion & convention fund if you choose not to sell tickets ahead of time!  Bring your garage sale items the day of the events at 9:00am to set up!  We will also a cookie lee jewelry & candle fundraiser before december! to help raise monies neede for competition, etc.

We will also have rehearsals for upcoming shows this day after ballet company!    1:00-6:00pm

  DUPREE DANCER CONVENTION & COMPETITION  - SAN JOSE, CA  FEBRUARY 24-25TH                                                                                           WEWILL LEAVE ON fRIDAY FEB 23RD & stay  at the hotel friday & saturday night, dance competition is saturday late afternoon -                                 aprox 4:00pm until finished

JUNE - ANNUAL RECITAL -**OUT OF THIS WORLD**    SUNDAY JUNE 26TH  2:30pm - CUESTA COLLEGE AUDITORIUM

(note the studio will be closed 3-4 weeks after the recital this summer) & reopen the week before the midstate fair for rehearsals!
