1.   Your task is to solve the following puzzle.
As Chief Medical Examiner for the City of Boston, you notice two greasy smudges on the murder victim's smock. In your lab, you extract these spots using the appropriate organic solvents. Hopefully, they will provide a clue to identifying the perpetrator. From the search of the suspected perpetrator's home, a bottle of steroid-enhanced hand lotion was confiscated. Remembering the utility of thin-layer chromatography in analyzing such things, you set up a quickie experiment.
