Austrus married (1) Henry S. FISK, son of Thomas FISK and Lucia, on 19 Mar 1843 in Bingham Twp., Clinton Co., Michigan. The marriage ended in divorce. Henry was born about 1817 in Vermont. He died 20 Aug 1880 in Richland Twp., Montcalm Co., Michigan.

 

Marriage Record:

"I Marvin Greenwood a Justice of the Peace of the County of Clinton in the State of Michigan do hereby certify that on the 19th day of March 1843, at the Town of Bingham in said County Henry S. Fisk and Austrus Ann Gardner both of the Town of Bingham in said County were married by me and that they were personally known to me, and that I ascertained they were of lawful age to contract marriage and that George W. Gardner and Mary A. Bliss both of the Town of Bingham in said County were present as Witnesses at Said marriage.   And after due enquiry made them affirmed no lawful objection to said marriage.   Given under my hand on the (?) day of June 1843, Marvin Greenwood, Justice of the Peace.   Filed and Recorded this 17th day of June A.D. 1843"

 

 

BIOGRAPHY of AUSTRUS and HENRY FISK:

 

"Portrait and Biographical Album, Gratiot County, Michigan," p. 462:

 

"...Henry and Ann (Gardner) Fisk, natives of Poultney, Rutland Co., Vt., and Cattaraugus Co., N.Y., and of mixed descent, they having English, French, and Dutch ancestors.   Henry Fisk was by occupation a carpenter and joiner, and died in Richland, Montcalm Co., Mich., in August, 1881.   Ann (Gardner) Fisk is still living in that county, aged 58."
