George married Mary INSLEE, daughter of John INSLEE and Mary SEELEY, on 3 Nov 1838 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Co., Michigan. Mary was born about 1818 in New York. She died 4 Feb 1882 in South Boardman, Kalkaska Co., Michigan.

 

MARRIAGE Record:

"This certifies that the bans of Matrimony were duly solemnized by the subscriber between Mr. George W. Gardner of the Town of Ann Arbor, County of Washtenaw and State of Michigan, Aged Twenty two years, and Miss Mary Inslee of the Town, County, and State aforesaid aged nineteen years - in presence of John Inslee and Francis B Terry both of Ann Arbor & others. "Grand Traverse Herald," Grand Traverse, Michigan, 16 Feb, 1882:

"Mrs. Mary Gardner of South Boardman, aged 63, died while sitting in her chair sewing, on Saturday, Feb. 4."

2.  John S. GARDNER (George W.) was born about 1842 in Michigan.  He died 27 June 1862 in Gaines Hill, Hanover County, Virginia, while fighting in the Civil War.

 

3.   Clarence Helmer GARDNER (George W.) was born 17 Apr 1845 in Michigan. He died 9 Nov 1919 in Whitewater Twp., Grand Traverse Co., Michigan and was buried in Circle Hill Cemetery, Whitewater Twp., Grand Traverse Co., Michigan.

 

4.  George Mack Gardner, Sr., "Mack" (George W.) was born 29 Mar 1852 in DeWitt Twp., Clinton Co., Michigan. He died 9 May 1937 in Garfield, Grand Traverse Co., Michigan and was buried in Boardman Twp. Cemetery, South Boardman, Kalkaska Co., Michigan.
