She died 4 Dec 1946 in Kalkaska Twp., Kalkaska Co, Michigan and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska Twp., Kalkaska Co., Michigan.

 

 

DEATH of CHARLES D. PIERSON:

"Leader and Kalkaskian," Kalkaska, Michigan, Thursday, 23 November, 1922:

Death of Kalkaska Pioneer, Charles D. Pierson

Charles D. Pierson, a pioneer resident of Kalkaska, having lived here for the past 34 years, died at his home in the north part of the village last Saturday morning of heart disease.  He was 61 years old at the time of his death and had been in poor health for a number of years.

Mr. Pierson leaves a widow, 3 sons, and a daughter and many friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at 2:00, Rev. E. Nelson, preaching the sermon and interment was made in the Evergreen Cemetery.  F. Schroeder and company were the funeral directors.

 

 

DEATH of MARY SESSIONS PIERSON:

"Leader and the Kalkaskian," Kalkaska, Michigan, 5 December, 1946:

Mrs. Mary A. Pierson, 83, died at her home Wednesday morning following a lingering illness.  Born at Cayuga, N.Y. Nov. 9, 1863, she moved to Elk Rapids with her parents when 12.  She lived in Kalkaska County for the last 70 years.  She was a member of the Peoples Church and of the Third Division of the Ladies Aid.  Her husband passed away in 1922.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roma Wood of Scottville; three sons, George of Kalkaska, Howard of Union, N.H. and Vernon of Saginaw; also eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at the Berg Funeral Home at 2:30 Saturday with burial in Evergreen cemetery.

DEATH of GEORGE D.:

Published in the book "Kalkaska County Area Obituaries, 1950-1987, as Published in 'The Leader and Kalkaskian'":

George D. Pierson, 88, of Kalkaska, died Monday evening, March 15, 1976, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.

Mr. Pierson was born in Kalkaska on July 5, 1887, son of the late Charles and Mary Sessions Pierson.  He never married.

He had been a life long resident of the Kalkaska area.

Surviving are one brother, Vernon Pierson of Saginaw; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 1976, at the Schwartz-Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.  Eddie Bratton, pastor of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, will officiate.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.

2.  Baby PIERSON (Howard) (twin to Mildred) was born 29 Aug 1919, in Kalkaska Twp., Kalkaska Co., Michigan. She died 29 Aug 1919 in Kalkaska Twp., Kalkaska Co., Michigan.

 

3.  Mildred PIERSON (Howard) was born 29 Aug 1919 in Kalkaska, Kalkaska Co., Michigan. Mildred married Harvey Herman GUETZKA on 23 Aug 1939 in Kalkaska, Kalkaska Co., Michigan. She died 15 Oct 1976 in Pentwater, Oceana Co., Michigan. Harvey died 16 May 1981 in Hart, Oceana Co., Michigan.

DEATH of VERNON:

"Saginaw News," Saginaw, Michigan, February 9, 1982:

Vernon D. Pierson, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Monday morning, Feb. 8, 1982 at St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Age 76 years.  He was born June 4, 1905 in Kalkaska, MI, coming to Saginaw 49 years ago.  He married Viola Frisch Dec. 1, 1928.  She survives him.  He was a member of the Michigan Bell Pioneers.  Mr. Pierson had been employed at the Michigan Bell Telephone Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1969.

Funeral service will take place at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 1982 at the Snow Funeral Home, 1218 N. Michigan Ave., 10:00 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church, Rev. Msgr. Eugene Forbes will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. 

 

DEATH of VIOLA:

"Saginaw News," Saginaw, Michigan, 5 October, 1982:

Mrs. Viola M. Pierson, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Saturday afternoon, Oct. 2, 1982, at Saginaw Community Hospital after a short illness.  Age 73 years.  Viola Frisch was born May 23, 1909, in Nicktown, Pa. coming to Saginaw 47 years ago.  She was married to Vernon Pierson Dec. 1, 1928.  He predeceased her Feb. 8, 1982.

Funeral service will take place 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Snow Funeral Home, 1218 N. Michigan Ave., 10:00 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church.  Rev. Dale Orlik will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
