DEATH of REUBEN:
"Interlaken Review," Interlaken, New York, 11 July 1913:
The death of Rev. R.D. Pierson occurred early on Monday morning, following a long period of illness and invalidism. Deceased was formerly a member of the Central New York conference, (Methodist), and his last appointment was Townsendville. Failing health compelled his retirement, so he located in Lodi, where his son had preceded him, and thereafter resided here. He was a member of the local G.A.R. post, and had been its commander. He bore his many months of great suffering heroically, and was thoroughly prepared for his demise. Funeral was held from the home on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M.J. wen, of Ovid, assisted by Rev. Seth Cook, and burial at West Lodi, He is survived by his widow, who is very feeble, and a son, Dr. V.M. Pierson of this place.

Reuben Pierson, Sr. died at his home here on Sunday evening, July 6th, aged 74 years. Funeral was held at the home on the Wednesday following, conducted by Rev. M.J. Owen of Ovid. Interment at West Lodi. He leaves a wife, one son, and two grand-children.

DEATH of VICTOR:
"The Gazette and Independent," Ovid, N.Y., March 24, 1939:
Dr. Victor Pierson passed away at the Seneca Falls hospital on Thursday, March 16. Funeral was at the home of Jessie Bennett on Sunday. Burial was in West Lodi. He leaves a son Reuben in California and a daughter in Canandaigua.

"The Interlaken Review," Interlaken, N.Y., March 24, 1939:
In the death of V.F. Pierson on Thursday evening, March 16th, 1939, Seneca County has lost a citizen widely known, of good humor, kind and obliging disposition, trustworthiness. All these qualities, and more, made for him a friend of everybody. He had lived in Lodi many years. He will be greatly missed in many ways.
The funeral was held from his late home Sunday, March 19th. Burial in West Lodi Cemetery.

Father waits over the way to prepare us a dwelling place there.

(My note: He was in the military only 3 months. The 138th NY Inf. Regiment was changed to the 9th Heavy Artillery on December 9, 1862. Benjamin may have incurred the deafness while he was training for the Artillery, and was discharged early.)
