DEATH of ETHEL:

"Clinton Republican," St. Johns, Michigan, 11 July 1940:

Mrs. Louis T. Mayers, 48, a lifelong resident of Clinton county, died Saturday at her home in Bengal township.

Mrs. Mayers was the former Ethel Viola Lamberson. She was born in Victor township Feb. 22, 1892, and was the daughter of Riley Lamberson. On Sept. 12, 1910, she was united in marriage to Louis T. Mayers. Mrs. Mayers was a grange member during the greater part of her life.

Surviving her is her husband, her father; two brothers, William of Lansing, and Clifford of Olive township; three sons, Raymond, Fred, and William, all of Bengal township; and a granddaughter, Marjorie Marie.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon by Rev. Earl F. Collins at the Osgood funeral home. Burial was made in the Dewitt cemetery.

DEATH of CLIFFORD:

"Clinton County Republican News," 11 June 1964:

Clifford Lamberson, 60, of R-1, DeWitt, suffered a fatal heart attack Thursday while driving on N. DeWitt road at Lehman road.

Coroner VanHoag said Lamberson's car ran down a small signpost and went into a ditch, but that death was due to the heart attack. State Police said the accident scene is about three miles north of here.

Lamberson, a machinist, is survived by the widow, Florence, and a brother, William R. Lamberson of Lansing.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Vincent-Rummell Funeral home. Burial was made in DeWitt cemetery.

Laingsburg Man and Dewitt Girl are married January 15

A quiet wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Toy in Lansing Saturday evening at 9 o'clock when Rhoda Belle Reynolds, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reynolds, of Dewitt, was united in marriage to Earl Edward Pierson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Pierson of Laingsburg, in the presence of the immediate families. They were attended by Miss Ruth Marzke of Dewitt, as maid of honor and Russel Bowers of Watertown.

The bride was attired in white crepe with a touch of red at the waist line.

She carried a Bible, an heirloom which had been a gift to each daughter on her 16th birthday for five generations. To the white silk covering of the Bible was attached a colonial bouquet of narcissus and stevia centered by a single red rose. The bridesmaid was gowned in robin's egg blue crepe. Her corsage was pink roses and white stevia. After the ceremony Mrs. Reynolds, assisted by Mrs. Toy, served luncheon.

Mr. and Mrs. Pierson left immediately for a short wedding trip. They will be at home on the Brya farm near Bath after Feb. 1.

Several prenuptial affairs have been given in honor of the bride, who has received many beautiful and useful gifts.
