Allison Danger Interview

I conducted a very interesting interview with 3Pwrestling star, Allison Danger. Allison discusses her involvement with 3PW, her views on women in wrestling, and how she got involved with this great business. You can visit Allison’s website at www.allisondanger.com. You can also visit the 3P website at www.3pwrestling.com. Below is the interview in its entirety:

Steven:  Welcome Allison. Tell the fans about your involvement with 3Pwrestling.

Allison: Thank you.  I was brought into 3PWrestling to manage Rapid Fire Maldonado.  We were both at the debut show on February 15th to take on High Profile Dylan Night and Candi.

Steven:  What can the fans expect to see at a 3P wrestling show?

Allison:  They can expect to see a little bit of everything.  You have your high-flying matches, hardcore matches, matches that are reminiscent of a more old school style.  Plus you have beautiful women there to round out the show.  It is a well-balanced show for all sorts of wrestling fans.  3PW also has some more established guys and some really great up and coming talent.

Steven:  How long have you been in the wrestling business?

Allison:  I started out in the wrestling business in May of 2000.

Steven:  Who or what inspired you to be involved with pro wrestling?

Allison:  I actually fell into it by chance.  I watched wrestling growing up but never thought I would become involved in it.  I had ridden to a show with the Queen of Extreme, Francine, and was hanging out in the locker room when the Sandman asked me to fill in for his wife.  I did, and the rest is history.

Steven:  Tell us a little about your character or gimmick.

Allison:  I tend to be more of a tough girl.  I am not afraid to get into the ring and mix it up with women or men.

Steven:  Do you wrestle as well as manage other wrestlers?

Allison:  Yes I do.  The majority of my matches have been mixed tags.  I really enjoy the physical aspect of wrestling.  I don't want to be just a piece of eye candy standing in the corner and clapping when I should.

Steven:  Is there a wrestler or manager you like to model yourself after?

Allison:  Not model myself after, but there are a few females who I take some sort of inspiration from.  The classy way Miss Elizabeth worked, to how women like Ivory, Mighty Molly and Jazz combine their talent and knowledge without compromising their class or their femininity.

Steven:  What type of wrestling training have you experienced?

Allison:  Once I entered the wrestling business, I began to train at the Cruel School of Wrestling, which was located in Reading, PA at the time.  I was fortunate enough to be trained by Steve Corino, Rapid Fire Maldonado, and Mike Kehner.  They not only taught me how to work, but they also taught me how to respect the business and the people in it.  They also worked on ring psychology with me.  I am fortunate enough to have access to women like Francine, Jasmin St. Claire, and Dawn Marie. They all have helped me so much with my career.

Steven:  Whom would you consider your favorite wrestler?

Allison:  I am a huge fan of Tajiri's work.  I also like the Hardy Boyz and Chris Jericho.  On an independent level, I find Low Ki and the SAT just amazing.

Steven:  What inspires you to be involved with pro wrestling and sacrifice so much of your life for the business?

Allison:  When I am in the ring, feeling the energy of the crowd and the workers around me, that is pure inspiration.  That is the feeling that drives me harder and further.

Steven:  What is the hardest part about your involvement in pro wrestling?

Allison: Just getting the energy up to make a road trip can be tough sometimes.  Also, it can be tough financially.  Most of us have day jobs to help support our careers.

Steven:  Have you set any goals for your wrestling career?

Allison:  I do have goals but I also believe that if I never quite make it to where I hope to be, I will look back on my career and see some really great things.  I have had a lot of fun, made some wonderful friends, and gotten to do some crazy things that not a lot of people get to do.

Steven:  Do you feel like women are getting the attention they deserve in pro wrestling or do you feel women should play a more active role?

Allison: I feel it depends on the individual woman. While some women want to get into the ring and be physical, others prefer to stay on the sidelines. I do like the new direction the WWF's women's division is going right now. I am happy to see it is more about how the women work in the ring, and less about gimmicks

Steven:  What advice would you give to someone that may be reading this interview and considering entering the wrestling business?

Allison: I can't stress how important it is to attend a good wrestling school. Proper training and respect are two of the most important things to have.

Steven:  3Pwrestling is a great up and coming organization. What has your experience been like so far with the staff and the other wrestlers?

Allison: I love it at 3PW. They have a great product and a wonderful locker room full of talented individuals. If anyone has the chance to see them May 18th at Viking Hall in Philadelphia, I highly recommend they come check out 3PW.

Steven:  Allison, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to chat with me today!

Allison: No problem, and thank you for your time.
