Steiner, HBK, Tag Belts, and Much More….

In my last column, I called all of you out and posed the question of where wrestling would be in the next 20 years. I received many interesting comments and I enjoyed reading them all. This week, I would like to swing my chair at several different topics crowding my cranium.

Scott Steiner is making his big debut soon in WWE. I am glad to see the “Big Bad Booty Daddy” make his wrestling return. He will definitely add some much needed spice to the WWE lineup and create some interesting feuds with some of the best in the business today. Will Vince put the WWE strap on “Big Poppa Pump” or will Steiner not even hold up in WWE? Many critics question his ability to be competitive in the ring with his bad foot and his past attitude problems. Some people think Steiner’s stay in WWE will be short lived. Others believe he will be around for quite some time. Either way it goes, he will make a big impact. Holla at THAT if ya hear me!!

HBK’s match against Triple H at Summerslam was one of the best I have seen in quite some time. It was great to see “The Showstopper” alive and well in the ring again. It looked to me as if he had not lost a step in the ring and he could very well compete on a regular basis. As much as I would love to see that, it does not look like it will happen. If we all have to settle for a little of HBK, I guess it is better than none at all. I anticipate his match in the “Elimination Chamber” during Survivor Series and I would love to see him leave with the World Title. My advice to the WWE is to use HBK as much as possible and try very hard to get him in the ring on a regular basis.

Someone please explain to me why we have two tag team titles when we barely have enough tag teams to compete for one set of titles. If WWE was so anxious to put on a tournament to help draw ratings, why didn’t they do a tournament for the RAW World Title using some of the great talent from the RAW program? We now have two sets of tag team titles and no true tag teams to compete for them.

WWE gets rid of one of the greatest singles titles of all time, the Intercontinental title, when WWE is packed with some of the greatest singles wrestlers the business has seen in years. We also have to do without the Hardcore Title, which in my opinion could have been more entertaining than any other title race if it were used properly. All of these moves with the titles have not made any sense to me and seem to put the company in greater despair than before. Do all of us a favor Vince and make up your mind what titles you want and do SOMETHING about the tag team division. The WWF/WWE tag division used to be the most prestigious tag titles in the business. Now, they are a complete joke and waste of television time.

It appears we are seeing Brock Lesnar begin his face turn. Whether it is the right move or not remains to be seen. I think Brock has done very well so far in his young career and I can’t wait to see where he goes from here. His feud with The Big Show could be interesting if the storyline is built up properly. I’m glad to see Show get his much-needed push. Some of you may disagree with that and may think Show is a big goof. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to be over 7 feet tall and almost 500lbs, he moves around the ring great. Give him a bigger edge and make him seem invincible and The Big Show could possibly steal the show as well as the WWE Title.

Does Edge have what it takes to be a main event star? There are many fans who seem to love watching Edge in the ring. Others, like myself, just can’t seem to get excited when Edge is in the ring. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there is something missing from Edge that would make him a big Superstar in the ring. If anyone else shares this same opinion, I would love to hear your thoughts.

As always, I love to hear from each and every one of you out there. Please do not hesitate to email me and share your thoughts about my recent column or any other wrestling topic on your cranium.
