Missy Hyatt was kind enough to grant me an interesting interview. Read what she has to say about the 3PW wrestling federation, her newest endeavors, Terry Funk, and her thoughts on entering the WWE. You can read the interview in its entirety below:

Steve: You have a tremendous history in the wrestling business. Currently, you have been involved with 3PW. Tell me more about your role with them and your thoughts on the federation.

Missy: I think the federation is awesome. It has a female running the federation, Jasmin St. Claire. Even though her and I do not get a long very well, it is great to have her as a nemesis. They have a great product and great talent along with great ideas.

Steve: Can you expand on your feud with Jasmin?

Missy: Well there is going to be a Panties and Pasties match between Jasmin and I in this weekends PPV. I guess I will just have to kick her butt in the ring.

Steve: Do you think 3PW could become a big-time federation in the near future and possibly compete with any other federations?

Missy: I think we could. With all the great ideas they are doing along with the great TV tapes they are putting out and great storylines, it could definitely happen. There needs to be another federation out there.

Steve: Going back to your history in the business, how did you first break into wrestling?

Missy: I started in 1985 with World Class Wrestling as a valet to “Hollywood” John Tatum.

Steve: For those fans that may have kept up with your wrestling career, there was a period of time after WCW where you were not in the wrestling spotlight as much as you used to be. What was going on in your life during that time?

Missy: I moved to NYC and wanted out of wrestling for a while. I did some Indy shows here and there and followed that with an 18-month hiatus from the business until I got back into wrestling with ECW.

Steve: What other interests do you have besides professional wrestling?

Missy: Right now, I’m dancing at clubs. In about a month or so, I’m going to be a feature entertainer at adult nightclubs. I also have my paid website called wrestlingvixxxens.com. I will also be launching MissyHyatt.com, which will be an adult website.

Steve: You remain one of the beautiful women in professional wrestling. How have you maintained the position as one of the great divas after so many years?

Missy: I eat right, work out and try hard to take care of myself.

Steve: Have you ever thought about entering the WWE or are you happy where you are today?

Missy: I’m very happy owning my own company that produces DVD’s, my websites, and getting starring as a feature entertainer. I’m just happy being my own boss.

Steve:  You have witnessed many great wrestlers over the years. Is there a particular wrestler(s) that stand out as being truly remarkable in the ring?

Missy: I would say Terry Funk. He has been one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I think he’s the best. Some say Ric Flair is the best of all time, but I think Funk has him beat. Funk has kept up with times whereas Flair has not. Ric Flair’s matches are the same all the time. I’m not even a worker and I can do one of Flair’s matches in my mind. It’s the same everywhere and with every person. Funk changes with the times. When wrestling changed to hardcore, Terry went Hardcore. He’s an innovator who brought Hardcore wrestling to the United States. He’s a genius.

Steve: As a beautiful woman in wrestling, did you ever have any problems with any love crazy fans?

Missy: The only problem I’ve ever had was guys wanting to date me because I’m Missy Hyatt and not because of who I really was.

Steve: Where do you hope to see your life the next 5-10 years? Would you like to remain in wrestling or pursue other avenues?

Missy: I would be pursuing other avenues. I’m going to be doing features and producing my DVD’s as long as I still have the body and looks to do it. When I don’t, I’ll retire.

Steve:  What advice would you like to give other women who may read this and consider entering the wrestling business?

Missy: Wrestling is really hard, but if it is something you love, then I say stick with it. Don’t let anyone tell you can’t do it. Don’t let them try to change you. If you have that love for wrestling, keep at it. Hard work and talent outshines everything else.

Steve: Missy, thank you for your time today and I wish you all the best with any endeavor you pursue in the future.

Missy: Thank you very much!
