Taking a Swing Before the Rumble

Welcome Chairshot fanatics! I received a great deal of feedback from all of you regarding my last column. Every one of you seemed to be in agreement with me that Kane should deserve a push. Now, it just remains to be seen if indeed that will happen. Now, I have a few more things I would like to address in this week’s column.

One of those things happens to involve The Big Show. Now, I know that Show is not the fastest man in the world and he does not posses the athleticism of a Cruiserweight, but the man can move around the ring pretty good for someone that is over 7 feet tall and close to 500lbs. Maybe it is time for not only Kane to regain his dominance, but it’s time for The Big Show as well. Back in his WCW days, the man could hardly be stopped. He comes over to the WWF and seemed to make a pretty impressive appearance. Not too long after entering the WWF, Show won the WWF title and seemed to be on his way. Then, he hit a tremendous brick wall that laid him flat on his 500lb ass. Since then, he has not done much and has not received much of a push from the WWF writers. So, what would it take to get The Big Show back at the main event level? Well, it would not hurt him to lose about 50 to 75lbs and try to lean up some more. He’s tried in the past, but can’t seem to reach that level and stay there. I also think he should go on a tear of matches where he goes undefeated. Have something happen to him that causes him to just snap and take out all of his anger and frustration on just about all of the WWF roster. Then, once he has reached the level of being invincible to the fans, push him back into the main event spotlight. That’s just a few ideas off the top of my head, but that would at least be a start in the right direction.

Now, What in the hell is up with The Big Bossman? This man could not entertain a group of innocent mined kids, much less 15,000 grown adults. He is WAY past his prime and does not need to be in the ring with the main event guys such as The Rock, Jericho, and Stone Cold. Bossman needs to either be in some kind of training facility so that he can train young, up and coming wrestlers, or he needs to go back to Cobb County Georgia and be a detention officer since he seems to love that character so much. That’s just my opinion people, I’d be curious to know what all of you think. WHAM!!! Take that chairshot Bossman!!!

The Royal Rumble is coming up this weekend, and everyone can’t wait to see who will be the winner of the Rumble. Everyone seems to believe that Triple H will be the definite winner, but I’m not so sure that should happen. I think it would be way too obvious and I believe the writers should not let Triple H win it. Have him come very close and maybe be one of the last two men in the ring, but get thrown over the top rope. To be honest, I’m not sure who I would like see win the Rumble. Having Taker win it and get his “respect” would be cool. Kane winning it would be a great gift to him for all of his hard work. Having Stone Cold win it would be just as predictable as Triple H winning it. Booker T winning it would definitely be a swerve, but I don’t think the majority of the fans would go for it. Kurt Angle would be a nice surprise, even though I’m not an Angle mark. Having Angle the last man standing would put a nice little twist on the main event at Wrestlemania and it could point to a possible 3-way match. When it boils down to the last men in the ring, you can bet that the men I have mentioned will more than likely be some of those men.

I personally do not want The Rock to beat Jericho and Stone Cold win the Rumble. I’m sick of seeing a Stone Cold vs. Rock main event. We’ve seen that too many times at Wrestlemania. It is now time to give someone else that spotlight at Wrestlemania. To be honest, I’m not quite sure how I would like to see the main event shape up. Maybe a 3-way match, or even a 4-way match would be interesting. I think I will just wait and see how things play out over the next few months. As long as I don’t see both Rock and Stone Cold in the main event, I’ll be happy.

We shall see the return of The Godfather and Val Venis at the Rumble. I have to admit, I’m very glad about that. I’ve missed The Godfather and Val Venis characters. Those two wrestlers will also spice up the Intercontinental title race and help bring that belt back up to where it should be. I doubt we will see anything develop from the Golddust character, but I have to admit that I would not mind seeing him stick around. I always thought he was a very interesting character that brought a little bit of mystery to the WWF. But again, I doubt we will see that happen.

There has been much speculation regarding Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Hulk Hogan entering the WWF very soon. As far as I’m concerned, that day can’t come soon enough. I’m a huge fan of Hall and Nash and seeing the nWo reformed in the WWF would definitely be TOOO SWEEEET! Only time will tell if that will play out, but I have my fingers crossed that we will see them strolling out from under the Titantron to the Wolfpac music very soon. A lot of people believe that it will cause tension in the backstage area due to the large egos of Hall, Nash, and Hogan. I believe that Vince would not do anything to jeopardize the good karma in the backstage area. If these guys do come back, I think Vince can keep them in check.

Well, that’s about all that I have on my cranium at this time. I will be back very soon with some very interesting interviews that I have conducted with several Independent wrestlers. Keep your eye out for those. I’m continuing my effort to help wrestling fans see the other side of wrestling besides what you see on WWF television many times a week. All of the guys in the WWF today started out with Indy federations and I’m anxious to see how the next generation of stars will turn out. Please take time to read these interviews if you can. They are very interesting. As always, feel free to email me your feedback to Chairshots2head@yahoo.com. Don’t blame me for the tremendous pain that is shooting down the back of your neck and into your spine. Maybe next time you will be sure to keep your eye out for a tremendous “Chair Shot to the Cranium”.
