What happens now?

Wrestlemania X8 is in the books and I’m sure we will see mixed reviews on the event. The so-called “poison” that is the nWo seemed to be just a mild cold. Vince hyped the group to be a deadly force in the WWF and they were far from it. Yes, they did rough up The Rock and Stone Cold a bit, but the two of them prevailed at Wrestlemania. Triple H is the new Undisputed Champion and still on bad terms with Stephanie. How long will his “face” status continue? Is it time for DDP to call it quits? His fan reaction is way down and it looks as though the peak of his career has passed. So, the question is: What is going to happen to these guys now?

I was truly amazed how the millions of Rock fans seemed to turn on their hero and side with the “immortal” Hulk Hogan. That was a perfect opportunity for The Rock to turn "heel", which has been talked about for a while now.

I could imagine Scott Hall and Kevin Nash running down to the ring to help out their fellow nWo member. Instead, they turn their back on him and attack him with the help of the Rock. The Rock then finishes off Hogan and the three men stand in the center of the ring with their arms raised. The young icon replaces the older icon as the leader of the nWo

Talk about a shocker! It would be hard to see that one coming. Instead, we see a clean finish with The Rock prevailing over the "immortal" Hulk Hogan. Hall and Nash turn on Hogan and we are down to only two members of this so called "poison"; at least for now anyway.

Where does the nWo go from here? Since they are down to two members, should they add X-Pac to the group? Sadly for X-Pac, I don't think too many people care whether he returns or not. Could Hall and Nash recruit the services of "Big Papa Pump", Scott Steiner?

Will we see the return of the red and yellow Hulkster? Does Hogan have enough in him to stand on his own again and battle the ugly "heels" as the ultimate "face"? Only time will tell.

Triple H is the new Undisputed Champion of the WWF. He and Stephanie seem to be going through with their "divorce" and Triple H appears to remain one of the top "faces" in the company. His battle with Jericho at Wrestlemania was entertaining, but far from historic. Will Triple H keep his "face" status or will he return to his ugly "heel" status with Stephanie at his side once again?

Picture this scenario: Triple H turns "heel" and feuds with the Hulk Hogan of old and he captures the WWF title one last time. Some fans may agree with that idea, others may laugh at it. Whether it happens or not, I will not lose too much sleep over it. I do think Hogan should get one last run as the champion before he hangs up the yellow tights.

I cannot help but notice how the fans interest in DDP has dwindled over the years. DDP does not seem to possess the look or the gimmick that sparks the fans interest. The peak of his career was during his championship reign in WCW. He was loved by the fans and could bring them to their feet for all of his matches. Now, it seems his presence in the ring is far less exciting. Is it time for DDP to step aside and relive his role as a manager?

There are many question marks in the wrestling world right now. How will these angles play out? Who will benefit from them and who will not? Whatever happens, the fans should be entertained. The WWF must do something with the nWo angle so they are the “poison” they were presented to be. Hogan must decide which gimmick he wants to use before he exits the business. Will it be as “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan or as the yellow and red Hulkster? DDP must think about a career decision soon. His level of entertainment is down and it is time to decide what is best for his career. Please feel free to send your comments and opinions to Chairshots2head@yahoo.com.
