Will Booker T Be The Sucka? |
Wrestlemania is fast approaching and so is the biggest match in Booker T’s career. He will step into the ring against the self-proclaimed “Game”, Triple H. Will Triple H do a clean job to Booker and give him the biggest win of his career, or will he come out on top and smelling like roses?
Over the past few weeks, the WWE has finally given Booker his much-deserved push. He is one of the hardest working wrestlers in the business today. He is told what to do and he does it, no questions asked. He is a great entertainer and has more wrestling moves than some of our past and present main event wrestlers who have held a world title. Given these aspects of Booker, will the WWE screw him and run his push straight into a big wall or will they make Triple H look like the “Sucka” at Wrestlemania?
As much as I would like to see Booker walk out of Wrestlemania the new World Champion, I do not think it will happen. I do not see Triple H jobbing to someone who is coming up from the mid-card ranks. I believe he feels he is too good for that. I could be wrong and he may give Booker the clean victory. But if I were a betting man, I would put my money on Booker’s shoulders being on the mat for 3 seconds after a predictable pedigree.
Give me one good reason why Booker should not be given his run as World Champion.
No one can say he cannot wrestle, because he can. Look at Stone Cold for example. Booker has far more wrestling moves in his portfolio than Austin. The same goes for other wrestlers such as The Big Show, Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, and many others. I’m not saying any of the guys I just mentioned didn’t deserve to be the champion in their day nor am I saying Booker T is better or worse than these guys. The point I want to make is that no one can say Booker doesn’t have the wrestling skills to be a champion. He has just as much if not more than other past champions.
Some of you may say Booker isn’t an “entertainer”. I beg to differ. Booker has made me laugh more times than any other Superstar in the past year, except maybe for The Rock. Booker is a great entertainer and knows how to get the fans pumped up. He’s funny, enthusiastic, different, and spontaneous. Booker has good mic skills and has proven he has the entertainment aspect of the business.
Others of you may say Booker just doesn’t have it. Well, first of all, you must define “it” before you can say he doesn’t have “it”. Booker has “it” and much more. He has the wrestling skills, he has the different look, he has the entertainment, he has the mic skills, and he has the ability to play both face and heel. The only thing he does not have is the championship around his waist.
I have a bad feeling the WWE doesn’t see the things I see in Booker. Unfortunately, it could result in Booker looking like the “Sucka” at the biggest PPV of the year in the biggest match of his life. Boy, do I hope I am wrong about this one.
· I found it disturbing to listen to Hogan and McMahon’s exchange of words a few weeks ago on Smackdown. The disturbing factor was that the two men were speaking what they felt, or at one time felt, towards each other. These two men clearly have issues with each other and you can certainly bet these issues will be evident during their brawl at Wrestlemania.
· Who will feel the void left by Kurt Angle’s absence from the wrestling world while he has surgery on his neck? As one of the great heels of today’s time, Angle will be missed and someone will need to step up to feel his spot during his departure. I wish Kurt the best of luck during his surgery.
· I feel Chuck Palumbo is being completely wasted in his current storyline as a member of the “Full-Blooded Italians”. Yes, Chuck definitely looks the part and blends in well with the group, but Chuck is a phenomenal wrestler who should be in a better role. If pushed correctly and used in a way that showcases his flamboyance and great wrestling ability, Palumbo could be a great superstar.
· This is my final plea to the WWE; please remove Lita from the announcer’s table during Heat. Grant it, not a whole lot of fans watch Heat, but those of us who do, have to listen to her horrible mic skills and annoying tone of voice. She is a great wrestler and should stay that way. Until she is well enough to wrestle, just come to the ring with Matt or something besides commentating.
