Why is X-Pac Still Around?

That is a question millions of wrestling fans ask themselves when they see him walking down to the ring. Fans love to chant “X-Pac sucks” at the 6”ft, 212lb, Minnesota native when he is in the house. Why do fans love to chant this at the former “1-2-3 Kid”? Could it be because he appears on television week after week and never seems to contribute much to the program? Maybe it’s because he looks like an arrogant punk when he struts down to the ring? Better yet, maybe it is because he truly does “suck”? Whatever the reason may be, you will not find too many wrestling fans that will admit to being a fan of X-Pac.

Wrestling fans often scratch their heads in disbelief as to why he is still around. Does X-Pac have something on Vince McMahon that would force him to keep him around? X-Pac is good for swift Karate kicks, a few spin kicks, his finishing move, and that’s about it; nothing fancy and nothing very entertaining. He has held the European title and Cruiserweight title on more than one occasion. He has also held the tag team titles more than once. He is not Intercontinental material and no one cares to see him hold the titles he has already held, so why should he stick around?

He clearly does not entertain the crowd when he comes through the curtains. People are more annoyed than entertained when they see him walk down the ramp with his hands above his head and that ridiculous looking cut-off shirt.

X-Pac has had a long career in the wrestling business. He started when he was a teenager and made his big debut in the WWF as the 1-2-3 Kid back in the early 90’s. He then left the WWF to join his friends, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, in WCW as the nWo began its assault on the wrestling world. He returned to the WWF in 1998 and joined another popular group, D-X. Since the D-X split, he has floated around on his own and annoyed fans with his repetitious wrestling styles.

What is next for X-Pac? Some scream out that he should quit the business and never come back. Other fans may like his wrestling style and wish to see him stay around for years to come. The number of people wishing he would stay around is probably far less than the number wishing he would strut out of the wrestling world forever.

Nevertheless, something needs to happen with X-Pac. He is boring and irritating. Maybe if he changed his name to X-Punk, he would at least recognize that he comes across as a punk and people would appreciate his honesty.

Instead, he comes to the ring with the mentality that he is one of the best in the business and that makes fans loath him even more. One good thing can be said for X-Pac and that is he knows how to draw heat from the fans. He knows the fans loath his presence and he plays his character to it nicely. He continues to come out every week and express his arrogant and cocky attitude. His attitude is the only thing going for him right now.

Sean Waltman will soon see that his time in wrestling is up. When he does leave the business, he will leave behind a successful cruiserweight career and millions of happy fans that have been waiting for a very long time to see him off the TV screen and out of the squared circle. “X-Pac sucks” will forever hang over Mr. Waltman and it is two easy words that sum up his entire wrestling career.
