BACK TO BASICS Basic Motorcycle Riding Tips
Maybe you are just getting into motorcycle touring. Or just getting back to it after many years absence. Maybe you've been a short-distance, around-the-town rider and now want to ride cross-state or cross-country. Here are some tips on motorcycle touring, no matter what you're riding:
PLAN YOUR RIDE, RIDE YOUR PLAN
How many miles can you comfortably ride in a car?
Deduct 10 to 15 percent for a Wing. More for a smaller bike.
Factor in good weather riding. Be realistic.
Then factor in bad weather. Ditto.
If you reserve rooms ahead, carry the motel phone number in case you need to cancel.
Use a map and/or GPS to determine overnight stops.
