Montgomery, Alabama - The popular success of the first two volumes in the Charlotte Miller trilogy, begining with Behold, This Dreamer, has readers--and bookstore retailers--anxiously awaiting the final installment of the Janson Sanders family saga. In response to audience interest, NewSouth Books will issue "sneak preview copies" of There is a River, for sale in August at Lemuria in Jackson, Mississippi and Malaprop's in Asheville, North Carolina. The book's official pub date is September 20th, planned to coincide with the SEBA booksellers show taking place this year in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The idea for the "sneak preview copies" sale originated with the small, independent publishing house, based in Montgomery, Alabama, when it received dozens of calls from fans asking about the pub date on There is a River. Publicity Assistant Amanda Davis fielded questions from retailers who were scheduled to have Miller for signing events in August, just missing the September release date of her new novel.
Lemuria's Patrick McCarthy and Malaprop's Linda Knopp were quick to recognize the unique nature of the proposal and to agree to August signing events for author Charlotte Miller. Miller has been on the road signing for almost two years straight, publicizing her first two books. By the end of this summer she will have participated in close to 200 book signings, toured through 66 cities, covered 12 states, and appeared in over a dozen festivals and conferences. A signing of such a unique sort seems only logical to be scheduled at such premiere bookstores.
Miller's first novel Behold, This Dreamer received the praise of several well-known novelists, including Melinda Haynes and Sena Jeter Naslund. Her second novel, Through a Glass, Darkly, also received praise from sources like Publishers Weekly. Charlotte Miller, a native Alabamian, works as a certified public accountant and is presently working on a fourth novel, which is forthcoming from NewSouth Books.
There is a River will be available in early-August at Lemuria and Malaprop's Books, only. Retail price is $17.95 (paperback). There is no ISBN on sneak preview copies.
